On December, 8th in the Russian state library (Pashkov's House) has passed presentations of the unusual car created by request of the Ministry of Culture, – a mobile complex of information-library service (KIBO). Company Eventum Premo has represented itself as the press centre and the organizer of presentation and press conference.
KIBO in the innovative mobile library and the first sample of “ bibliocars” new generation. KIBO has been created by Fund «Pushkin library» within the limits of the Federal target program «Culture of Russia 2006-2011».
KIBO represents specially equipped vehicle intended for maintenance of settlements, not having own libraries, literary and other information resources. It is distinguished by the maximum technical equipment and new possibilities for the readers, not given by former mobile libraries. It both modern computers, and possibility of Internet connection from any point of the Russian Federation through mobile satellite the Internet a platform, and digital information carriers, and the special elevating device for people with the limited possibilities. The library fund includes more than 1000 various books on subjects and 200 multimedia editions on various carriers (CD, DVD). Readers can use also the subscription and order books from the central libraries.
It is necessary to tell that the idea of mobile libraries was born more hundred years ago in the USA where recently celebrated anniversary of the first similar bibliocars. In the different countries under mobile libraries various vehicles will be converted, and not only. The first has started to go To Germany in 1920 bibliotrams. In Norway mobile library have created on the basis of a boat. And in some countries of Africa and Latin America, such as Venezuela and Kenya where the motor transport is not the basic means of transportation, books to inhabitants of the remote settlements are delivered to pack animals.
